Welcome, I'm Karen!
I would share a little about myself and my art journey.
My home is situated in the beautifully picturesque Moreton Bay Peninsula in South East Queensland, Australia.

"Art is my place of comfort, calm, joy and is my passion."

I love exploring many things over the years and continue to do so.
These have included things such as Pranic healing, Egyptian emotional healing, Raindrops massage therapy with essential oils, Jewellery making, with enamelling experience. I enjoy water colour, Acrylics, Inks, and pastels. I am a qualified Hairdresser, Beautician, and Goldsmith, Silversmith.

I discovered Encaustic art in 2015 and is now my main Art practice.
Encaustic art is using a mixture of Bee's wax and Damar Resin which is a tree sap. The Damar Resin gives the medium workability, and a varnish like optical property of showing high saturated colours underneath.

I was captivated by the flow of the molten wax, and the artistic freedom it has given me, not to mention the gorgeous honey like smell of the wax, so nurturing and natural.
I am also thrilled that I lure in local Bee's in the area that fly into my open windows in my studio  to check me out, and see where this honey smell is coming from. I love my insect friends from nature.

Karen H Clamp leaning against a large tree in Tasmania Australia I strive for work life balance, and when not in my studio I love to spend time with my beautiful family, play and make art with my Grandsons, who love to get messy in my studio with me too.
I connect with Mother Earth, which is my source of grounding and artistic inspiration. I love watching the ebb and flow of the tide, the sea at its calmest and roughest. Going deep into ancient forests, sitting listening, watching, feeling the energy of our living breathing planet which we are all part of.
